In this technique the detection of PCR products is made by including in the reaction a fluorescent molecule that reports an increase in the amount of DNA with a proportional increase in fluorescent signal. Applications: 1. Quantitative mRNA expression studies. 2. DNA copy number measurements in genomic or viral DNAs. 3. Allelic discrimination assays or SNP genotyping. 4. Verification of micro array results. 5. Drug therapy efficacy. 6.
